The NSW Food Authority has brought in a requirement for a certificate to be issued in the New South Wales Food Authority format. (In other words, on their stationary. As an approved provider we are supplied with 'blank' certificates which are completed with student details and recorded by the NSW Food Authority).
The Food Safety Supervisor certificate is issued by 'an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO)' in addition to the Statement of Attainment after successful completion of the training requirements.
A FSS certificate states that the person it is issued to is qualified to be a Food Safety Supervisor. We, the RTO will issue the Food Safety Supervisor certificates and cannot charge more than $30 for it, as approved by the NSW Food Authority. The FSS certificate is valid for five years from the date of issue.
It is a legal requirement that all businesses (even those who do not need to notify their FSS) keep a copy of their FSS certificate on the premises and produce it for inspection on request by an authorised officer.
For more information go to the NSW Food Authority website www.foodauthority.nsw.gov.au.
Please note. There is an additional cost of $30.00 (NSW Food Authority fee) payable for the NSW Food Authority certificate plus $10.00 for Registered Post and handling.
